Tyler Davis Missing, Columbus, Ohio, Found Dead? Disappearance Of Brittany Davis Since Feb. 24, 2019

Tyler Davis Missing Update: Columbus, Ohio Husband Remains Missing After Disappearance During Wife Brittany Davis’ Birthday Getaway

COLUMBUS, Ohio — More than seven years after Tyler Davis mysteriously vanished during a weekend trip to Columbus, Ohio, his disappearance remains one of the state’s most puzzling unsolved missing person cases. Despite extensive searches, public appeals, and years of investigative efforts, Tyler Davis has not been found, and there is no official confirmation that he has been found deceased.

The case continues to attract national attention because of the unusual circumstances surrounding Tyler’s disappearance in the early morning hours of February 24, 2019, during what was intended to be a birthday celebration for his wife, Brittany Davis.

Birthday Getaway Turns Into a Missing Person Investigation

Tyler Davis, 29, and his wife Brittany traveled from their hometown of Wilmington, Ohio, to the Hilton Columbus at Easton Town Center to celebrate Brittany’s 23rd birthday. The couple, parents of a 20-month-old son, left their child in the care of Tyler’s parents while they enjoyed an overnight getaway.

The couple had met while working together in 2013 and married several years later, welcoming their son in 2017. Before the trip, Tyler had reportedly worked six consecutive days of 10- to 12-hour shifts, leaving him physically exhausted.

On Saturday, February 23, 2019, Tyler and Brittany met his parents for lunch before checking into the hotel around 5 p.m. Later that evening, they were joined by one of Tyler’s longtime friends. Two additional friends were expected but ultimately did not attend.

The group spent the evening visiting several establishments in the Easton entertainment district, including Bar Louie, Adobe Gila’s, and later The Dollhouse, where they remained until closing time around 2 a.m.

Events Leading to Tyler Davis’ Disappearance

According to Brittany Davis, Tyler fell asleep during the Uber ride back to the hotel. When the vehicle arrived shortly after 3:20 a.m., Tyler appeared disoriented and believed they had been dropped off at the wrong location.

Witnesses stated that Tyler became frustrated and walked away from the hotel instead of entering the building.

Brittany initially intended to follow her husband, but Tyler’s friend offered to go after him while Brittany returned to the hotel room to charge her phone.

Approximately ten minutes later, Brittany returned to the hotel lobby but found neither Tyler nor the friend. Shortly afterward, Tyler called her at approximately 3:37 a.m., telling her he was simply walking around the block and would return shortly.

The friend later came back to the hotel alone, assuring Brittany that Tyler was only trying to cool off and would be back soon.

Final Phone Calls

Concerned that Tyler had not returned, Brittany continued attempting to contact him.

At approximately 4:10 a.m., Tyler answered and reportedly told his wife he was walking through the woods, could see the hotel, and expected to return within five minutes.

About one minute later, Tyler placed another call. The connection lasted only a few seconds and contained only silence before disconnecting.

When Brittany immediately attempted to call him back, the call went directly to voicemail.

Those brief communications represent the last confirmed contact anyone had with Tyler Davis.

Search Efforts and Investigation

After Tyler failed to return, Brittany contacted hospitals and local law enforcement to determine whether he had been injured or taken into custody.

A friend from the Columbus area joined Brittany in searching nearby streets, parking areas, wooded sections, and locations around the Easton Town Center complex during the early morning hours.

Investigators from the Columbus Division of Police subsequently launched a missing person investigation. Search teams, K-9 units, drones, surveillance footage reviews, interviews, and numerous public tips have all been utilized over the years.

Despite these extensive efforts, no confirmed evidence has established Tyler’s whereabouts after his final phone call.

Has Tyler Davis Been Found?

As of July 2026, Tyler Davis has not been found, and authorities have not confirmed his death.

Numerous online rumors and social media posts have falsely suggested that Tyler’s remains were discovered. However, investigators have never announced that Tyler Davis has been located, either alive or deceased.

His disappearance therefore remains classified as an active missing person investigation.
